SPRINGY THINGY - DRAWING WITH FORCES |

Springy Thingy began as a sketchpad - essentially the user was constrained to viewing the sketch/form from the plane of the computer screen inspite of a constant desire to look at generated forms from other perspectives. Seconly, form-making happened through an aggregation of particles in space creating articulate surface fabric - however it made any kind of manipulation of the surface condition (or building up on it) rather difficult. In place of the particle aggregation we wanted a surface condition where we could play with facets or triangulations as placeholders for future 'components'. And third, the idea of non-uniform forcefields in the model space seemed an interesting exploration. Springy Redux was built as an enquiry into these issues. |

Gravity Bombs pushing and pulling the surface. The first attempt of a non-uniform model space involved planting radial point forces (gravity bombs) in directional force fields. |

[Surface Condition] instead of aggregation of particles
John Snavely made use of some nifty Rhinoscripts to change the surface condition based on external logics. |
